Prohibitions on handling and disposal of hazardous wastes
1. No person shall import into Kenya any hazardous waste falling under any category determined by the Cabinet Secretary (EMCA Section 91.3);
2. No hazardous waste shall be exported to any country from Kenya without a valid permit granted by NEMA and written consent given by a competent authority of the receiving country (EMCA Section 91.4);
3. No hazardous waste shall be transported within or through Kenya without a valid permit granted by NEMA (EMCA Section 91.5);
4. Its an offence to withhold, falsify or otherwise tamper with information relating to trafficking in hazardous or other waste (EMCA Section 91.6).
