Roles played by the Cabinet Secretary in handling of hazardous waste in Kenya
The Cabinet Secretary shall, on the recommendation of NEMA determine standard criteria for the classification of hazardous wastes with regard to determining—
(a) hazardous waste;
(b) corrosive waste;
(c) carcinogenic waste;
(d) flammable waste;
(e) persistent waste;
(f) toxic waste;
(g) explosive waste;
(h) radioactive waste;
(i) reactive wastes
(j) any other category of waste that NEMA may consider necessary.
(2) The Cabinet Secretary shall, on the recommendation of NEMA issue guidelines and regulations for the management of each category of hazardous wastes
