Monetary benefits from access to genetic resources
a. Access fees or fee per sample collected or acquired;
b. Up-front payments – payments for acquiring materials or services rendered
c. Milestone payments – payments made as per every tangible progress/achievement/process/
d. Payment of royalties – payments paid to the provider(s)/source of information/service/product/
e. License fees - for commercialization of genetic resources/materials/derivatives arising from research on genetic material
f. Fees to be paid to trust funds supporting conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity;
g. Salaries and preferential terms paid to personnel involved in the work at different levels where mutually agreed;
h. Research funding;
i. Joint ventures;
j. Joint ownership of relevant intellectual property rights;
