Obligations imposed on holders of biodiversity access permits


A holder of an access permit is expected among other things to:
a. Work closely with the institutions that they are affiliated to and the community.
b. Present the permit on request as proof of authority to access biodiversity resources.
c. Ensure the community is well informed about the benefits expected and how they will be shared.
d. Ensure there is transparency and accountability to avoid conflicts with the local community.
e. Abide by all the conditions prescribed in the access permit.
