Role of NEMA in promoting harnessing of renewable energy as provided in EMCA Cap 387

NEMA is expected to in consultation with the relevant lead agencies, promote the use of renewable sources of energy by—
1. promoting research in appropriate renewable sources of energy;
2. creating incentives for the promotion of renewable sources of energy;
3. promoting measures for the conservation of non-renewable sources of energy; and
4. taking measures to encourage the planting of trees and woodlots by individual land users, institutions and by community groups.
