Functions of the National Environment Tribunal


1. Receive and determine appeals made by members of the public aggrieved by decisions of NEMA
2. Receive and provide direction on matters submitted to the Tribunal by NEMA, which are considered to be complex, of unusual importance and involving a point of law. NEMA may, after giving notice to the concerned parties, refer the matter to the Tribunal for direction. When this happens, NEMA and the parties thereto shall be entitled to be heard by the Tribunal before any decision is made in respect of such matter and may appear personally or be represented by an Advocate
